The Art of Candle Care
Our artisanal botanical soy candles are hand-poured with love in New Delhi. Follow these mindful rituals to ensure a clean, smokeless, and lasting 45+ hour burn.
The Crucial Memory Burn
The first burn sets the candleโs memory. Keep your candle burning until the entire surface layer of wax has completely melted into a liquid pool right to the glass or ceramic edges (usually 2 to 3 hours). This prevents "tunneling" and guarantees an even burn for the lifetime of the candle.
Trim the Wick to 1/4 Inch (5mm)
Before every single lighting, trim your cotton wick to approximately 1/4 inch (5mm) using a wick trimmer or scissors. A trimmed wick produces a steady golden flame, prevents carbon mushrooming, and completely eliminates black soot or flickering.
Extinguish With Calm (Never Blow)
Avoid blowing out candles directly, which creates smoke and can splatter hot wax. Instead, use a bell candle snuffer or gently dip the wick tip into the molten wax pool using a metal wick dipper, then immediately straighten it upright. This preserves the delicate room fragrance.
Safe Sanctuary Placement
Always place your lit candle on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface (such as our handcrafted jesmonite decor trays). Keep away from air conditioners, open windows, ceiling fans, curtains, pets, and curious little hands. Never leave a burning flame unattended.
A Second Life For Every Vessel
When only 1/2 inch of wax remains, gently pour warm (not boiling) soapy water into the vessel to float the residual soy wax to the top. Wipe dry with a cloth. Your amber glass jar, ceramic pot, or solid brass urli is now ready to become a timeless stationery pot, planter, or jewelry organizer.
